About
LamiNest Cut is being built as a practical CAD/CAM environment for 2D production preparation.
LamiNest is being built as a practical CAD/CAM environment for sheet-metal businesses and CNC cutting. It aims to support the path from 2D part geometry through DXF and arranging parts on a sheet (nesting) to cutting-process preparation.
The project is intended for workshop owners, production-preparation staff and CNC operators who work with 2D drawings and DXF documentation.
Units, scale, contour closure and duplicates in a DXF affect whether geometry is ready for downstream work. Nesting must account for sheet boundaries and spacing, while cutting preparation also depends on process parameters. These are project aims, not claims of measured savings or production readiness.
Work proceeds in stages: stabilizing 2D CAD foundations, improving DXF exchange, developing and validating nesting, continuing CAM work, and practical testing and stabilization. Not all capabilities are available; their status is described separately.
These are principles the project aims to follow. They do not mean that every procedure described here is already fully implemented.
Capabilities are developed in stages, and their status should reflect the actual state of implementation.
Units, contour closure, duplicates, intersections and other issues need review before further processing. Not every case is automatically detected today.
Changes should be checked for their impact on features that already worked.
Sample files and real use cases help assess behaviour. Machine testing should follow appropriate checks and take place in safe conditions.
Experimental capabilities should not be presented as production-ready.
Reports can help set priorities and identify issues, but do not guarantee a fix date or feature implementation.
The following overview reflects the supplied current product status. Limited, experimental and planned capabilities are not production-ready claims.
Basic document model and geometry; the editor and tools are in development.
Import and export of selected entities, with file-dependent limits.
A limited envelope-based MVP; True-Shape is experimental.
Configuration and selected operations are partial; the full workflow is unfinished.
The production module remains planned.
Basic quoting and an advanced module remain planned work.
