CAM toolpath preparation

CAM turns part geometry and process parameters into a cutting operation plan.

LamiNest Cut status

A toolpath depends on geometry, material, process data, entry strategy and machine constraints. Every result needs review for the specific technology and controller.

The CAM configuration model, validation, kerf compensation and lead-in have limited scope. The full CAM interface is unfinished. A production Fly Cutting strategy, complete tabs, machine simulation and NC postprocessor are not confirmed.

Process elements

Kerf compensation offsets the path from the nominal edge based on cut width. Lead-in and lead-out connect the contour to approach and exit moves. A pierce point accounts for starting the cut. Contour order affects part stability. Parameters must come from the right process.
