Common DXF geometry problems
Drawing defects can make a profile ambiguous or cause unexpected paths.
Open contours
Two line or polyline ends may look connected while a small gap remains. Inspect endpoints at a useful zoom and check the joining tolerance in the operator's software.
Duplicates and overlap
A duplicated line may be cut twice. Overlapping segments can be hard to see in an ordinary view. Compare coordinates, layers and any available geometry report.
Arcs, units and construction objects
Check that arcs have the intended direction and radius, units are correct and annotation or construction geometry is not treated as a profile. Limits depend on entity type and software.
Next steps
Keep a source copy, correct geometry in small steps and inspect the file again in the target system. See the DXF preparation guide.
