Geometry ready for nesting

A useful layout starts with unambiguous contours and clearly defined constraints.

Check profiles

Identify external and internal contours, closure, duplicates and intersections. Confirm units and scale. Do not join profiles based only on visual proximity.

Bounding boxes and contours

Bounding-box placement is simpler but does not use the exact part shape. True-Shape may use concavities or hole space when the model and validator distinguish contours correctly. This adds complexity and does not guarantee the best result.

Define constraints

Prepare the part list, quantities, sheet format, margin, spacing and allowed rotations. Check the output for collisions and process limits. Nesting is separate from CAM toolpath preparation.
